N.Z. FARMERS' UNION.

— The monthly meeting of the Otorohanga branch of the Farmers' Union was held in Mr Ormsby's office. Owing to the absence of most of the farmers at the Hamilton show the attendance was - small. There were present—Mr Jno. Ormsby (in the chair), Messrs W. Vicary, Johnson, Prime and H. W. Quin (secretary and treasurer). Correspondence was dealt with from— ' __ Mr Skuse, on matters in connection with the Waipa navigation scheme. — The secretary had already written to Mr Skuse explaining that the Pirongia people interesting themselves in the scheme could count upon the entire sympathy and support of those at this end. Rev. Wayne, re donation to Children's Hospital.—Received. Provincial Secretary re printing material. —Left for the secretary to deal with. v Mr Johnson proposed and Mr Ormsby seconded, that the secretary be instructed to communicate with Mr Ormsby of Te Rau a Moa, with reference to his proposal that various settlers in that district join this branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, and then to form (themselves into a subbranch of this one, and that Mr Ormsby be asked to send in the names of all those desirous of joining.—Carried. Mr C. J. Johnson gave notice to move at the next meeting that the authorities be approached with a view to having a courthouse erected in Otorohanga. Mr Johnson proposed that a petition be drawn up and sent to all interested in order to get the signatures of all ratepayers in favour of said County severance and the formation of a new County. Mr Prime seconded, and earried. Mr Vicary proposed that the secretary be instructed to write to the member for the district, asking for his support in the formation of new County to comprise the northern part of the present Waitomo County and a part of the West Taupo County.
