TE KUITI FIRE BRIGADE.

A meeting of the above Brigade together with the Fire Committee of the Borough Council was held in Hattaway'a Hall on Monday night and was largely attended. Cr King was voted to the chair. It was unanimously decided to hold a monter plain and fancy dress ball on Thursday evening, 11th August. It was decided to give prizes for the most original costumes, and the following gentlemen kindly agreei to donale same:—Messrs W. S. King, J. Erikson, Larritt and Young and Captain Ford. It was also decided to hold a waltzing competition on the night of the ball for which prizes will be given. The following were appointed a committee to go into the matter of catering:—Cr Young,' Captain ford and Fireman Fitzmaurice. A vote of thanki to the chair closed one of the largest meetings that the Brigade has held-eince its inception.
