FOOTBALL.

Maniapoto Rugby Union. A meeting of the above Union was held in Mr Falwasser's office on Wednesday evening last. The minutes of the- previous meeting were read and confirmed. Messrs Young and Thorp moved that the green and white jersey as submitted be accepted as the Union's colours, and that the secretary be instructed to obtain 15 of same.--Carried. Moved by Messrs Lusk and Matthew that the players who receive rep. jerseys and do not return them within seven days of match, will be sued for same, and offender* will also be liable to disqualification by (he Union.— Carried. Messrs Lusk and Thorp moved that all players in rep. matches shall wear black knickers. —Carried. A letter was received from the King Country Union suggesting July 23rd as a suitable date to play the Maniapoto rep. team at Taumarunui, a return match to be arranged later. Messrs Falwasser and Young moved that this date be accepted and that the Club fixtures arranged for that date be deferred. —Carried.

Mr N. B. Lusk, the referee in the Nehenehenui-Mokauiti match on Saturday last, reported that the Ne'he's had won by 17 points to nil. Several players were registered for the Mokauiti seniors and the Hangatiki juniors. The following were appointed referees for next Saturday's matches: —Mokauiti v. Otorohanga, at Otorohanga, Mr Burke; Tanehopuwai v. Te Kuiti, at Te Kuiti, Mr Howarth; Te Kuiti juniors v. Otorohanga juniors, at Hangatiki, Mr Le Gallais. The secretary was instructed to write to the secretary of the South Auckland Rugby Union, asking him for information re the new idea of playing 20 minute spells. Mr Falwasser was appointed manager for the Maniapoto team on the occasion of their visit to Hamilton. The team will leave Te Kuiti by the 10.45 train.

The next meeting of the Union will be held in Mr Falwasser's office on July sth at 7.15 p.m.
