KING COUNTRY ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.
A council meeting of the above Society was held in the secretary's (Mr Mussen) office on Monday evening last. Only a limited number were present, namely Messrs Lorigan, N. Lusk, Dransfield, Sims and Mussen. Mr Dransfield was voted to the chair. Mr Ayson, who is in charge of the Auckland hatcheries, attended the meeting and furthered a request from the Auckland Society Cor permission to net and strip trout, for ova, in the Waimiha and Ongarue streams. The feeling of the meeting was favourable towards granting this request, and on the motion of Mr N. Lusk, seconded by Mr Sims, it was resolved to place the before-mentioned streams at the disposal of the Auckland Society, to do as requested. Mr Ayson reported that a few twoyear old Loch Leven trout had been liberated in the Waipa river. The Waiteti stream and the Kaingaika lake were mentioned as being suitable places for the Loch Leven trout to be liberated in.
The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
