Ohura.

The final stages of the competition for the handsome cup presented by Mr W. Gunson, of Auckland, were fired on Thursday last on the Club's range. The executive of the Ohura Defence Rifle Club fixed the following conditions extending over three series as follows: —Cup to be won twice in suCt cession or three times intervals.

Bruce (12 points handicap) 192. Second series (2 shoots) at 500, 600 yards, 7 shots each range:—W. S. Currie (scratch) total 135, W. 8,. Williams (scratch) 134, Clair Williams (scratch) 133. In the final stage, 10 shots at 800 yards, twelve members taking part, some fine shooting wa,s ma,de, particularly by M;r O- Bi'«ee, who put up the fine performance of 49, one off the possible, The scores of first five in final shoot were as follows: —Mr Clair Williams, 800 yards, 10 shots, 47, grand total 378, Gunson Cup, presented by Mr W. Gunson, and gold medal prcesented by Ohura Defence Rifle Club; Leslie Lovedaj, 44, grand total 372, silver medal, presented by Mr S. Harker, of Hamilton; W. S. Currie, 46, grand total 370; D. Bruce, 49, grand total 367; W. R. Williams, 43., grand total 362, "'
