Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report having held a most successful sale on Saturday in the Te Awamutu yards, when a full yarding of cattle and sheep came forward. The sale was lively from the start and ail lots were sold under the hammer with the exception of one or two pens which were reserved and somewhat high. Dairy cows and heifers were in great demand and realised very good prices. We quote as follows: —2 year steers £3l2s 6d to £4 15s 6d, empty heifers £2 lis, 18 month steers £2 15s, fat cows £4 J2s, dairy heifers £6 to £9 10s, springing heifers £6 7s 6d to £6 17s 66, calves 32s 6d to £2, fat wether-* 17s.
The Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— At Hamilton on Thursday sheep came forward in full numbers, but few cattle. Fat lambs, shorn, made 10s to 10s Sd, store lambs 7s lid, fat ewes 10s 7d to 12s 3d, wethers 17s, f.m ewes in lamb 9s 6d, fat cows £5 13s 6d, cows in fresh condition £2 10s to £3 10-i, 3 year heifers in calf £5, dairy cows £6 to £7 7s 6d. Pigs—Porkers 19s 6d to 21s 6d, weaners 7s 6d to 9s 6d.
We held our usual monthly sale at Cambridge on Friday last, when 120 head of beef and 385 store cattle were submitted. There was very keen competition for fat stock at much higher prices than last month, and all sold with the demand unsatisfied as also, did store cattle and calves. Fat steers made £7 17s 6d to £8 3s, light weight £6 17s 6d, fat cows £5 2s 6d to £6 15s, aged cows £4 5s to £4 15s, 3 year steers in forward condition £5 19s, empty cows £2 12s 6d to £3 Is, 20 month steers £5 ss, yearling steers £2 13s to £2 15s, well grown calves £1 18s 6d to £2 4s, others £1 5s 6d to £1 13s 6d, dairy cows close to profit £6 12s 6d to £7 2s 6 i, empty ewes'9s Id, weaner pigs 10s to! 10s 9d, slips 19s. c ' * ■ ■ '
The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report;On Thursday last we held a clearing sale at Roto-o-rangi on account of Thos. Moisley. Notwithstanding the extremely wet day there was a fair attendance and good prices realised, the best cows making £7 to £l2 10s, others £5 10s to £6 15s, the herd of 38 cows averaging £7 14s 6d, heifers £7, calves 31s, hacks up to £l3, farm mare £3l, waggon £2O 10s. drill £l6.
