FOOTBALL.

The Native team in Australia played a drawn game with the Armidale Northern Union on Wednesday, the scoring being 6 ponits each. Winiata kicked a goal and Harrison scored a try for the New Zealanders. The game was fast and open. The New Zealand team (not Natives) play their first game in Sydney to-day. The English Union has granted the following alterations to the rules of the game:—(l) Four spells; (2) a fair catch to be claimed by making a mark or calling out "Mark !" ; (3) the ball to be thrown out at right angles five yards from touchline.

The Te Kuiti team were unable to get their full team away to-day to Otorohanga, Kirk, Boles and Fitzmaurice being unable to make the trip.
