TE KUITI VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE.

A meeting of the above brigade was held on Thursday evening, June Ist. Captain Ford occupied the chair and there were also present—Foreman Nicholson, Secretary Jane, and Firemen Pitcon, Keeley, McNaught, Fitzmaurice, and Lawry. Mniutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Correspondence from United Fire Brigades' Association was dealt with. Resolved that the secretary write to the Te Kuiti Borowgh Council, requesting that body to take over the present fire appliances and make arrangements for payment of th j liabiltiy of £27 18s 8d due on same to the Fire Brigades Supply Company; also that the Council be asked to arrange for temporary premises suitable for a meeting and social room for the firemen; also the providing of suitable fire alarm and uniform as early as possible. Owing to a large number of the Firemen having left the district, and therefore creating vacancies in the brigade the following were proposed and duly elected members of the brigade:—J. Erickson, R. S. McDonald, Chas. Benden, Blackman, Cobb, H. B. Graham, P. J. Hill, Jack Cobb, E. Double, J. McLeod, J. Hatton, J. Rutherford, J. Matthieson, Innis J. Kerr, and J. T. Gardiner. Resolved that the brigade should meet again on Monday next, all new members to be notified of same.
