BOWLING AND CROQUET SOCIAL.
The first of a series of socials, given by members and friends of thu Te Kuiti Bowling and Croquet Club was held last night in the Town Hall, Te Kuiti. There-was a crowded attendance, fully fifty couples taking part in the dances. The stage was occupied by groups of card players and as viewed from that point, the scene was one of animation and brilliance. The hall was well-lighted and the floor perfection, so with the aid of Hetet's band, the evening passed off only too quickly. A recherche supper was served about 10 p.m. at the rear of the stage, and afterwards dancing was resumed until close on midnight. Mrs Lissaman and Miss King contributed the extras and Mrs Porter sang. Dr Fullerton and Messrs E. A. Power and 0. L. Jones acted as M.CN. The evening was generally voted a highly successful one.
