FOOTBALL.

Maniapoto Rugby Union. The annual meeting of the abovo Union was held in the "Chronicle" office on Monday evening last. There were a fair number present, including delegates from the Otorohanga Club. Mr A. F. Howarth was voted to the chair. The minutes of the last, annual general meeting were read and approved. The financial statement was read and shewed a debit balance of £ls 14s 4d. It was resolved that the balance-sheet, as read, be passed. An application for affiliation with the Maniapoto Rugby Union was put in by the Otorohanga delegates (Messrs Worthington and Eveleigh). Mr Rothery proposed and Mr Filzpatrick seconded that the application be accepted —Carried. It was resolved that the OtorohangaMokauiti match be the first one played this season, and that it be played at Pio Pio. Also that the return match between those clubs be played at Otorohanga. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Major Lusk; president, E. C. Falwasaer; vice-presidents, Messrs M. He tot, G. Elliott, Mark Cowley ar.d A. F. Howarth. Mr A. S. Grcdiam was appointed secretary pro tern. Resolved that the £f> promised to the Nehe Nehe Club, to go towards their caps, be paid forthwith. Mr Thorp gave notice to move at the next general meeting, that "the affiliation fee for the various clubs in the Union be—seniors £2 2s, juniors £1 Is." It was resolved that a genera) meeting of the Union bo held in the "Chronicle" office on Monday next, 16th inst,. at 7.15 p.m. sharp. It was resolved that Messrs Falwasser, Matthew and Keeley be. appointed a deputation to wait upon the Domain Board at their next meeting to find out the Union's position in connection with the use of the Domain during the forthcoming season. Resolved that the Union banner have the name of the Nehe Nehe Club, winners of last season's competitions, inscribed upon it. The meeting terminated with a vole of thanks to the chair.
