Nearly all the co-operative men employed in forming and metalling the Te Kuiti-Awakino road have been discharged, in view of the wet season soon setting in. The road has been metalled for a distance of nearly eight miles from Te Kuiti, and also the worst placeß for about two miles-fur-ther en, with the result that it is in better condition now than it has been for the past fourteen years. Waggons are employed day and night in the work of carting stores into the townships and distircts embraced within the area of Te Kuiti'a hinterland. The rising townships of Pio Pio and Aria are advancing by leaps and bounds, shops of various kinds and dwelling houses being in course of erection. The erection of the dairy factory will also tend to the advancement of Pio Pio and the prosperity of the farmers in that district.
