PERICLES ROCK LOCATED. Perth. The unchartered rock upon which the Pericles struck has been located. It has 24ft of water on it, and lies at a distance of seven miles from the lighthouse. The Pericles lies in 16 fathoms about two miles from the. light. SYDNEY TO MELBOURNE. Sydney. The Aerial Club has started a movement to raise funds to provide prizes for a point-to-point aerial flight from Sydney to Melbourne. TATTERSALL'S IN SUVA. Melbourne. The Social Reform Bureau is communicating with the Governor of Fiji and the Secretary of State with a view to preventing Suva being made a base for communicating with Tattersail's. CANADA AND RECIPROCITY. London. The Ottawa correspondent of the "Daily Mail" states ;that reciprocity negotiations with the United' States are impossible before October. Mr Cairns, president of the Montreal Board of Trade, states that Canada wants to be alone to work out her own commercial destiny. When reciprocity would have been useful Washington turned a deaf ear to all rep"esentations. Canadians now desired to avoid tariff complications with the United States. COTTONSPINNERS' LOSSES. London. Lancashire master cotton spinners state that in Oldham alone they are losing £60.000 sterling a week owing to the present rates of wages, which they purpose reducing by five per cent. They state that the present wages could only be justified by a period of unexampled good trade. JAPAN AND RUSSIIA. St Petersburg. Japan is supporting Russia's demands to Pekin for a settlement of the regulations for the navigation of the Sungari. It is stated in St. Petersburg that Russia and Japan are fully agreed on all Far Eastern qusetions.
