Moisture in Butter.

Prosecutions Withdrawn. Mr W. T. Jennings, M.l'., has received the following letter from tho Minister of Agriculture relative to certain butter moisture cases pending :-- "Sir, —Further to my letter in regard to the request of various settlers that legal proceedings be taken against them for sending forward butter containing an excessive percentage of moisture I have the honour to inform you that it has been decided not to go on with the cases against those settlers who sent forward over-moist butter, in view of the difficulty they have had in keeping the amount of water within limits and in view of tho Department's proposals for remedying the evil by starting a butter-working plant at New Plymouth."—THOS.
