The Farmers' Auctioneering Compnay, Ltd.. report:— We held our usual Matamata stock sale last Wednesday, 23rd inst., when we yarded 720 head of cattle. There was a large attendance and brisk bidding throughout. Fat steers £G 7s 6d to £7 7s, heavy fat cows £5 16a to £G Is, lighter sorts £4 10s to £5, fresh cows £3 to £3 ss; 18 to 20-months steers £2 12s 'to £2 16s, about 480 calves yielded keen competition, for the choicest mixed sexes 31s to 38s, others 20s to 28s, young calves 15s, springing cows £4 5s to £5. The yard ing of sheep was 4100, the majority being full-mouth and old ewes; fat wethers 14s fkl, fat ewes 12s, fat lambs JOs, stope wethers 10s 9d to lis 9d, wooily lambs 7s 9d to Ss 9d, small lambs 4s' Gd to 6s 4<j, atnali 2, 4 and 6-tooth ewes lis to 12s 6d, full-mouth ewes 98, aged ewes 4s 6d to 7s lid. Pigs: Porkers 255, slips 16s to 18s Cd, weaners 7s to 10s.
We held our usual monthly sale at Hikotaia on Thursday, 24th inst,, and yarded 3(50 head of cattle. Prices were about the same as those ruling in Waikato. Fat steers £7 ss, fat cows £5 12s, lighter weights £1 la to £1 15s, forward 2% and 3-year steers £5 18s Gd, 15 and 18-months steers £2 12s 6d to £2 15s, slightly older steers £3 3s to £3 ss, aged store cows £1 2s to £2 ss, fresh conditioned cows, up to £4, calves, mixed sexes 20s to 30s, younger sorts 15s Gd to 18s Gd, springing cows and heifers £4 17s Gd to £6 2s Gd, bulls from £2 17s Gd to £4; fat ewes llsGd. Pigs: Porkers 255, slips 10s, wearers 5s Gd. Fowls Is Gd tp 2s Id, ducks Is lOd. At Morrinsville on Saturday, 26th inst., we yarded 300 head of cattle and 2790 sheep. There was a good attendance, good enquiry for cattle and fat sheep other classes being dull of sale; 49 beef penned sold readily, fat sceers £6 17s Gd to XI 7s Gd, smaller cattle £5 10s to £G ss, fat cows and heifers £i IGs to £5 7s, aged cows £4 to £4 12s, 15 and 18-months steers £2 12s, calves (steers) 24s Gd to 28s, mixed sexes (good) 27s to 31s younger sorts, 15s, 2-year heifers in calf £4 to £5, 18-months heifers £3 2s Gd to £3 15s, springing heifers £4 10s to £5 ss; fat wethers 14s to 15s Gd, fat ewes lis to 12s Bd, iat lambs 10s 3d to lis Od, forward lanibx 7s 4d to 9s 9d, cull ewes 2s Gd to 3s, 4 and 6tooth ewes IGs 3d, rams £-gn to l£gns.
