LAND BOARD.
The Monthly Meeting. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held at the Lands Office on the 15th inst. Present —The Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr Simpson, in the chair), Mpssrs Rattenbury and M'Cluggage. Land applied for. —Mrs B. Biggins applied for sections 11, 12 and 13, block 9, Rapara, containing 1268 acre 3. —The application was approved, but Mrs Higgins will be informed that she will be expected to comply with the conditions of personal residence, etc., and that no concession in connection therewith will bo allowed by the Board. Transfers. —It was decided to recommend the following transfers for approval:—H. H. Rhile to W. Beard, section 1, block 16, Olmra; P. Jackson to J., J. W. H. and 11. T. Fisher, sections 11 and 16, block 7, Cape (subjectto ranger's report) ; F. Kirton to E. Guscott, sections 22, 23, 24 block 2, Upper Waitara; W. J. and A. E. Speck, sections 26 and 28, block 4, Ngatimaru, and sections 1 and 2, block 5, Mahoe; P. Godinagh to G. Waterson, section 1, block 7, Mimi; J. Neilson (by Official Assignee) to A. A. Nelson, sub-section 2 of section 26, block 10, Ngatimaru; W. P. Pratt to P. E. Kyvett and T. S. R. Shaw, sections 8 and 10, block 10 and 14, Mahoe (subject to ranger's report); C. H. and T. Mackinder to T. Agang, section 9, block 3, Ohura (subject to declaration as to residence). The application of W. G. Fargie to transfer to o.' M'Culchan was refused. Transfers approved.—The following transfers recommended at last meeting have been approved:—D. Sullivan to H. H. Loft, sections 2 and 19 block 9, Ohura; T. O'Donncll to A. and A. Clarke, section 23, block 14, Aria; W. Rowan to P. R. and C. C. M. Farnham, sections 7 and 21, block 2, Ngatimaru; H. C. and A. C. Gower to H. V. and A. F. Gower, section 3, block 15, Omona; M. P. Knight to A. M. Wilde, sections 12, 14, 15, 19, block 3, Ngatimaru and section 2 block 15 Upper Waitara. Extension of time.—The following applications for extension of time in which to register transfers were received and approved:—Meads to Sheely section 3. block 8, Ohura; Glasgow to Allen, section 30, block 2, Ngatimaru; Field to Farnham Bros., section 6, block 2, Ngatimaru; Gooch to Ward, section 14, block 16, Ngatimaru. Sub-leases. —The following applications for permisison to sub-lease were recommended: —H. and S. P. Lett to S. P. Lett, section 3, block 7, Mimi; Simons, Boon and Boon to T. V. Simons, part section 5, block 5, Egmont; F. C. Coxhead to Taranaki Education Board, sub-section 1 ok section 102, block 10, Pouatu. The application of M. O'Neill to sub-lease section 4, block 11, Ngatimaru, to J. T. Moir, which was recommended by the Board at ita last meeting, has been approved. Site for a.Church.—The Rev. N. Hyde waited on the Board in support of an application made by him for part of block 30, Huiroa township, as a site for a Methodist Church.—Consideration was deferred pending a report from the Board's ranger. Beach road, Omata. —A letter was received from the Taranaki County Council, asking that the closed part of Beach road, Omata, be declared a road. —The request was agreed to. The Freehold.—The application of C. E. G. Finnerty to convert section 12, block 10, Ngatimaru, to freehold was approved; C. Hope and B. Macfarlane appliedl for the freehold of section 4, block 9, Ohura, and B. Macfarlane for the freehold of section 8, block 9, Ohura, and it was resolved that Ranger E. Tolme be appointed appraiser for the valuation of the land; J. McVeagh, on behalf of W. Walsh, applied for the freehold of section 14, block 7, Ngaere, which was approved. Selectors in default. —The followinglist of selectors who are in default was dealt with Anderson and Burns, section 4, block 10, Waro, non-residence. Residence to the complied with in three months or land will be forfeited. —A. E. E. Belcher, section 5, block 15, Upper Waitara, non-residence. Resolved that if not resident in a bona fide manner within a month the land will be forfeited.—G. E. Wilson, section 4, block 10, Pouatu, non-residence. Explanation satisfactory. Mrs J. McLeod, section 12, block 15, Aria, non - residence. Resolved that six months be granted in which she must be residing or transfer. —Gaustad Bros., section 44, block 11, Waitara, non-residence. Postponed until next meeting. —A. J. Miller, section I), block 7, Upper Waitara, deficient improvements. Resolved that six months' extension be granted —II. Larson, jun., section 3, block 11, Upper Waitara, deficient improvements. Six months' extension granted.- A. L. Henry, section 1, block 11, Upper Waitara deficient improvements. MiHenry waited on the Board and it was eventually decided that twelve months be granted in which to bring the improvements up to date or transfer subject to those conditions, failing which the land will be forfeited. General.—Messrs Roy and Nicholson applied for a grant of timber and tramway rights from W. B. Davies to the New Plymouth Firewood Company. The application was approved.—An application was received from C E. Raby for 1 h acres of section 5, block 13, Waro. It was resolved that a year to year tenancy be granted.--Plans of the Kururoa road and Parihaka road deviations were laid on the table —A schedule of land in the township of Huirangi, sold by auction on the 14th inst, was laid on the tablo
