UNIVERSAL MILITARY TRAINING.
Letter from Lord Roberts. Colonel Bell has received the following interesting letter from Field Marshal Lord Roberts, bearing date of 24th January:—Dear Colonel Bell: It must be a source of great gratification to yourself, and to the members of the New Empire and National Service League that your efforts have been crowned with success. [ trust that this most important reform, which has now been adopted in New Zealand may eventually be adopted by the Mother Conutry and extend throughout the for I am quite sure it is the only means by which the Empire can be maintained. lam sending for your kind acceptance a signed copy of the photo reproduction of Sargents picture of myself, presented to me by the staff who served with me in South Africa. —Believe me, yours very truly,— Roberts, F.M.
