The Court has dealt with some 350 applications during the pa;;t month, the orders made comprising appointments of successors to deceased persons, trustees for minors, and partition of a number of blocks in the vicinity of Te Kuiti. Under the new Act the law in regard to succession to personalty was changed, inasmuch as the personalty or purchased lands of a deceased person would he awarded under European laws of succession, while the lands held under Native custom would be awarded as heretofore. It bchoveij (he children and next of kin to see that their parents and relatives mado the necessary devising by will, in order that the proper succession should follow.

Judge Rawson said that no doubt an amendment of the Act would bo made, otherwise thore would be injustice done, owing to the new feature relating to "legal" marriages.
