PIO PIO SALEYARDS COMPANY.
The statutory meeting of the above Company was held at Pio Pio on the 29th ult., when about 30 shareholders were present. In the absence of Mr G. Elliott, Mr A. J. Rawstron was voted to the chair. The Chairman explained the object o$ the meeting. Upon a bojlof being taken the following directors were elepted; —Messrs W. Watson, E. Livingston, J, Evans, A. J. Rawstron, R. T. Bailey, G, Elliott, and A. Williams, A discussion took place as to the acquisition of the property whereon to erect saleyards, and it was resolved that it be a recommendation to the directors to use every effort to get freehold site, provided a reasonable offer can be obtained. After the above meeting the directors met. MrG. Elliott was appointed chairman and Mr Livingstone assistant secretary to Mr Hine. It was decided that meetings should be' held on the flrsj; Friday in each month at 10 a.m.
A meeting of the newly-appointed directorate was held on Saturday last at 10 a.m. Present: Messrs Elliot (chairman), Rawstron, Watson, Bailey, McKenzic, and Williams. The directors first inspected and measured off the three acres on which the yards will bo erected. The matter of negotiating for freehold was left in the hands of the chairman and secretary. Mr Watson was deputed to wait on timber merchants along the line to and obtain quotations, and empowered tp deal to b'es!; advantage. The chairman will in the meantime arrange for the carting, which will amount to about 25,000 feet rimu heart, sawn; with 900 posts ox 9 9ft jopg. ,
