MANGAPEHI.

Own Correspondent. A well-attended general meeting of the local Tennis Club was held in the old schoolroom on Tuesday evening, gnd a good deal of business was put through. Mr B. W. Hayson acted as phairpian. The secretary, Mr A. E. McCracken, announced that the negotiations- with the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association had been concluded, and that they were now affiliated with that body. This is a great advantage, as it enables the club to take part in any tournament held under the auspices of the Auckland League, such as, for instance, the tournament at Hamilton at Easter. The secretary of the Auckland Association wrote, saying that it would be a good thing if all the King Country Clubs joined the Association and then formed a union arrongst themselves, under control of the parent body. Permission was granted for the local club to play matches with Te® Kuiti on Saturday, February 12th, at Te Kuiti, and Taumarunui on Saturday, February 19th, at Mangapehi, as these matches had already been mooted before the affiliation bad been accomplished- Challenges : are to be issued accordingly.
