TE KUITI-AWAKINO ROAD

County Council Resolution. At the meeting of the Waitomo County Council on Monday evening, the letter from the Public Works Department, with reference to metalling the To Kuiti-Awakino road, was brought up for discussion, when Councillor Boddie moved the following resolution

"That while this Council is prepared at any time to undertake the expenditure of any grants made by the Government to any road within tho County, tho proposal contained in the letter of January 10th to metal three miles of To Kuiti-Awakino road on the basis of a £ for £ subsidy is an impossibility, as this pouncil has no funds for such a jnjj'pose, and jliis'faci must bp K : nowi} to (bp ).)eppr|;mep|:j j)nd the Council deeply vegrets thai; such an important and urgent worls should be thus unduly delayed by such an impossible proposal on the part of tho Government,"

Tho matter had already been dealt with by tho public, but the Council had to treat the letter officially.
