DISTRICT REQUIREMENTS
Replies on various matters concerning this portion of his elcetorate have been received by Mr Jennings from Ministers as follows: —
With respect to alterations at Otorohanga railway station the Hon. J. A. Millar states that it is recognised the cattleyards. should be removed, but as a complete re-arrangement of the station is necessary, matters are being dealt with and will be carried into effect when a favourable opportunity occurs.
The Postmaster-General has intimated to Mr Jennings that a post office will be opened on the Toroto road, Ohura, immediately. The important matter of metalling the Te Kuiti-Awakino road has occupied much of Mr Jennings' attention of late, and he has lost no opportunity of urging on the Prime Minister and the Minister of Public Works the urgent necessity of starting work immediately. The Member has used some very vigorous language to the Minister, and it will certainly not be his fault if the work is not pushed ahead, Mr Jennings also paid a special visit to Stratford and interviewed the Public Works Engineer on the matter. He has every hope that immediate action will be taken.
