TE KUITI FIRE BRIGADE.
A meeting of the above Brigade was held in the Chronicle Office on Monday evening last. There were 13 members of the Brigade present. Mr Boddie occupied the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The inward correspondence was read and received. It was resolved that a sub-commit-tee, consisting of Captain Ford, Foreman Nicholson, Fireman Sowry and Secretary Jane, be appointed to draft rules, and to submit same to the next meeting. Resolved that the secretary be instructed to go into the matter of insurance, and to report to the next meeting. The opinion wa3 expressed that the men should be insured with as little delay as possible. A sub-committee, consisting of Captain Ford, Foreman Nicholson and Fireman Matthew, was appointed to arrange matters in connection with getting up a concert, the proceeds of which would be devoted to the funds of the Brigade. Captain Ford spoke re new members, stating that the Brigade was not up to the full strength, and urged those present to obtain as many new members as possible.
