Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Auckland, have received the following cable rfom their London Office, under date 6th instant: —

Frozen meat: Quotations. —New Zealand prime ox beef fores, 2fd, hinds 3&d; New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy 3gd, light 4fd; prime crossbred lamb, North Island, heavy 3fd, light B£d; market for New Zealand beef weak; stocks of New Zealand mutton are nearly exhausted; fair demand for Australian mutton; New Zealand lamb —stocks are very small; improved demand for Australian lamb. Tallow. —Mutton in general unchanged; other descriptions 3d to 6d higher; demand is chiefly for low and inferior descriptions.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Auckland report having held their usual weekly sale of hides, skins, tallow, etc., on Wednesday, sth instant, clearing a large catalogue under good competition at later rates : Hides market continues very firm. V/e quote: Stout ox up to B|d, stout 7Ad to Bd, medium 7d to 7|d; light 6|d to 6gd; cow, best lines to 6|d, good lines 6d to 6|d, inferior 5Jd to s|d; stags B|d to 4|d; kips s£d to 6£d; caf, best Sd to 9d, good 6d to 7£d. Sheepskins market very firm: Best butchers, large to 8s 6d, good 6s to 6s 6d, medium 5s to 5s 9d, small 3s Gd to -Is 6d; pets and lambs Is 8d to 2s. Tallow market firmer: Best mixed 26s 6d, good 25s 9d, inferior 20s to 22s 6d. Rough fat, lid to Ifd per lb. Cow tails, Is 8d per dozen. Horse hair, Is 4d to Is 8d per lb. Bones, £4 17s 6d per ton. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Auckland, report having held. their usual weekly fat stock sale on Wednesday at Westfield. There was a large yarding of beef. Choice pens of extra quality bullocks brought fully 10s per head more than the previous week. Cow and heifer beef ruled about the same. There, was a good yarding of sheep, and prices were, if anything, better'than the previous week. Extra choice heavy weight wethers fetched up to 16s 9d, medium weights and ordinary quality 13s 6d to 15s, light weights 12s 6d to 13s; heavy fat ewes up to 14s, medium lis to 12s 6d. There was a good yarding of lambs, and prices were on a par with last sales. Good quailty heavy weights brought up to 13s 6d; medium to good quality average weights 9s 3d to 10s 6d; inferior and thin 7s to Bs. On Thursday at Westfield we offered and sold store cattle and dairy cows. Good dairy cows at profit were in good demand and were worth £8 to £lO, according to quality ; medium £5 10s to £7. .Good dairy ,heifers were worth up to £7 10s for choice sorts. Store catteare not in great demand at present, owing to the dry weather.

The New Zealand Loan and Mrecantile Agency Co. reportAt Te Awamuu on Saturday we had a full yarding of cattle, which were nearly all quitted at the following satisfactory prices:— Fat cows, from £4 6s to £5 10s; store cows, £2 lis to £2 15s; 2£year old steers, £4 7s;. "fat steers, £5 lis; 15 to 18-months steers, £2 12s; bulls, £2 to £2 6s; heifers, £1 17s to £2 6s; well-done calves, £1 8s to £1 ss; others, 18s to £1; dairy cows in milk, £4 to £7 10s.

The Farmer' Auctioneering . Co. Ltd., report:—At Hamilton on Thursday we had a yarding of 589 sheep, chiefly fats, 96 pigs, and 409 head of cattle. All classes of stock were' lower in price and harder to quit than before the holidays. Fat wethers made 13s to 13s 4d; fat ewes, 10s to. lis; fat lambs, 9s 9d; store wethnrs, lis 3d; weaner jpigs, 4s 9d to 1.0s; slips, 14s 6d to 19s 6d. Fat cattle were above requirements, and prices were considerably easier. Small fat steers, £5 13s to £6 ss; heavy fat cows, £4 lis to £5 2s;. choice fat heifers, £4 7s 6d to £5 ; cows and heifers not so well done, £3 10s to £4*ss; 18-months-old dairy heifers, -.the only classes that main-, tained late values, £3 0s lOd to £4 4s for Holstein cross £5 7s 6d for Jersey cross; ordinary heifers, £2 10s to £2 17s 6d; yearling heifers, £2; dairy cows and heifers close to profit, £5 5s to £6 1.0s; bulls, £2 to £6 6s. At Cambridge on Friday the Farmers' Auctioneering Co. had an entry of 427 weaner calves, 131 mixed, and. 89 pigs. With the exception of-i calves, not much business was done. Extra good calves sold from 22s to 25s 6d; fair calves, 18s to 21«; smaller sorts, 15s to 17s; fat and forward cows and beifers, £3 2s 6d to £3 16s; fat heifers, £4 6s: dairy cows and heifers forward in calf, £4 10s to £6.
