The hall was crowded with visitors from, various; places, and the concert' proved very enjoyable. A dance was afterwards held, closing shortly befora midnight. Mr Patrick O'Connor was presented with a handsome easy chair by the members of the Waipa Rugby Union last week. Mr P. D. Wood made the presentation and spoke of the high regard in which Mr O'Connor was held by footballers, sportsmen and the public generally. Mr O'Connor replied, thanking the Union and urging his hearers to do all they could to promote good, clean sport. The chair, made by Messrs.
