MAIN TRUNK TRAINS.

Daily Express Discontinued. The second express which has been running for some weeks between Auckland and Wellington in to be discontinued from today. The Hon. J. A. Millar, when interviewed at Auckland, regarding the matter, said that while the traffic immediately before and during the holidays had been heavy the support now being given to the second through express was not sufficient to justify its continuance. Though Monday was the last day of the issue of excursion tickets, a fair number of people are still travelling, and the ordinary express from Wellington on Tuesday carried 200 passengers, and the express to Wellington at 10.35 a.m. had 150 on board.
