PIO PIO SALEYARDS.

A meeting of the Pio Pio kaleyards Company was held at Wairere on January Ist. Mr G. Elliott presided, and there was a good attendance of those interested in the venture. The chairman intimated that the Company had been registered, and it was apparent they would require a secretary to the Company, who could devote some time to the-business. After the matter had been/discussed at length it wa3 resolved on the motion of Mr McKenzic, seconded by Mr Eivingston, that Mr Hine.be appointed secretary to the Company for a period of twelve months. It was resolved that Mr Hattaway's offer of 10 acres be accepted, and the chairman and Mr Livingston were empowered to act immediately in procuring the best possible tenure for the property. It was decided to instruct the secretary to write to all probable shareholders at an early date, and that a printed circular be drawn up by the' chairman and secretary urging promptness in applying for shares; the circular and a copy of the articles of association to be posted to every settler whose name appears on the canvassers list.

The secretary was authorised to pay 12s license fee and stamp duty for the coming year.
