I The concert in connection with the Tc ! Awamuto Public School was held in I the Town Hat! on Friday. Mr 11. Y. -Collins, chairman of the School Com- | mit tee. stated that the proccedi were to he expended on the school garden, and if sufficient the balance was to be devoted to the recently formed cadet Corps. The following comprised the programme:—"Fairy Circles/' party of gtrls; "Poor Jolly Smiths, "Masters H. and R. Andrew. R. de toe. and D. Griffith; "Fan Drill," company of little girts: dialogue. "A Loaf of Bread," Miss J. Irvine, assisted by 12 boys; "Butterfly Song." and "Ring Drill/* companies of girls; tableaux. "Pleasure/* company of boys: song. "Sisters/* Master Bishop: physical drill, school cadets; pianoforte duet, Misses Galbraith. encored; dialogue. "The Fairy Gift," Misses dc. Coe, Teddy, Racfclcy, and Galbraith: willow drill, company of girls; "Japanere Fan Song." senior girls, encored: song, "The Lad of the Man-of-war," Master A. de Coe.
Much praise is due to the teachers, Mr F. D. Wood. Misses Mitchell. Mandeno and Johnson, for ths efficient way in which the children performed, special praise being due to Miss Mitchell. The item given by the cadets was most creditable, and this newly formed corps promises to become an important section of the Waikato Boy Scoots Company. The concert was followed by a dance to which a great number remained ontli the early hours of the morning.
