PAEMAKO.

Own Correspondent. An entertainment in aid of tbc fund* of the Paemako Public School was given in the school room on Monday, November 22nd. The concert was organised by the school committee, who deserve much praise for the arranging of such a varied and interesting programme. The committee relied solely on local talent for the items and the whole entertainment was a great success. Tbe thanks of the committee are due to Miss Stirling, for all tbe trouble she took in training the school children for the occasion, and also to Mr and Mrs Anderson for the lending of their piano. Too much credit cannot be given to tbe ladies for the providing of supper for tbe concert and dance.

We have to congratulate Mr P. O'Pwyer, our popular J.P., for being elected to the position of Councilor for the Paemako Riding, and wish him all success in bis new position. Shearing is in full swing in this district, and judging by returns tbe clip will be a record one. The directors and suppliers of tbe Piopio Dairy Factory Company, Limited, held a meeting here on Sunday afternoon in order to confirm tbe directors" action in the registration of tbe company. The Ktv. R. Mitchell held a service h. re on Sunday afternoon, and a Inrge congregation attended.
