The Marokopa School breaks up for the Christmas Holidays on the 17th December ant! it is the intention of the School Committee to give the children a picnic on that day to_ celebrate the event, winding up with an entertainment in the evening in the Hall. The exact form which the latter will take has not been definitely decided. The teacher Mr Honore is to be wsrr.ty complimented on the progress made by the children since being under his charge, a splendid percentage of passes being recorded at the examination which took place last week.
The s.s. Rothesay is expected up the on her next trip to Marokopa to load thf? first cf the season's wool. There is a full load awaiting her at Messrs Vicary's place about two milts up the rivrr, although shearing operations have been much retarded by the rerent broken weather.
Mr George I.unic of the Roads Department is expectel to take up his residence in Marckopa shortly in order to supervise the varoius road works in course of construction in this vicinity.
