The Telegraph Department notifies that for the future conversations on trunk telephone wires or bureau communications after the first three minutes will be assessed minute by minute and pro rata each minute or fraction of a minute in excess, thus, for instance not exceeding twenty-five miles for subscribers, minimum charge 3d for first 3 minutes or fraction, one penny per minute or fraction thereafter; non-subscribers, double above rate —over 25 miles and not exceeding 50, sixpence, each succeeding minute 2d. It has also been decided to lower the rates after 8 o'clock at night on all lines over 25 miles long, thus for communication over 25 miles and not exceeding 50 miles the minimum fee will be 3d for the first 3 minutes and Id a minute or fraction thereafter.
