MOKAI.
(Own Correspondent.) On Friday evening last a grand plain and fancy dres3 ball was held, the function being arranged by the town residents to entertain the bush workers. The ball was a great success sixty-four couples gracing the floor, and the dresses were widely admired. A very old chief died at Tenuri Pah last week in the person of Keri, a warrior who had foueht through the Waikato war. The deceased native had reached a great age, and was stated to be 110 years old.
