KAEAEA.
Own Correspondent. Some little time ago a petition was forwarded to the Tftranaki Land Board asking that certain Crown Lands in the district should be thrown open for settlement. The lands referred to are situated from two to six miles from Kaeaea near the Waitewhena road, and contain about 9000 acres of good country, portion of the block being suitable for dairying. The following reply has now been received by Mr Colin J. Riddle, on behalf of the settlers, and the knowledge that the request is to be favourably considered should prove welcome, as every fresh ««ettler is an asset to a new district:— "Mr Colin Riddl? and others*. Aria, I have to acknowl-dge the receipt of petition asking that the Crown I«onds in Blocks VI. VII, and X, Aria S.D. be thrown open for settlement, and have to inform you that the Land Hoard on 21st inst. resolved that you be informed that the matter will receive favourable consideration when the Field Staff is available for the necessary survey. With regard to Section 9. Block 3. Aria, which is an Education Resreve. steps will be taken to vest it in the School Commissioners.
