"AN ENGLISHMAN'S HOME."
By special arrangement with Mr J. C. Williamson, and under the direction of Mr Edwin Gcach. a powerful and specially selected English dramatic company, will present at Te Kuiti on Tuesday, September 21, Major Guy du Manner's play. "An Englishman's Home." When produced in Sydney at Easter, at the Theatre Royal, and subsequently at Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne, a repetition of the London rush was witnessed, people fighting almost like savages to secure seats in advance. The London "Daily Mail" terms an "Englishman's Home" a real rousing, emotional play which, viewed either as a satire or patriotic lesson, stirred the bouse to genuine fighting enthusiasm. It also says: "Satire is almost a tost art in England. This play has it. It is the instrument of its moral. Rather severe on our "Terriers," to be sore; on oar insular self - complacency and ignorance of things; en our pride and principle of 'muddling t) rough." But it is a lesson we much need.
