Proposed by Mr Lusk, seconded by Mr Hine, that a meeting of ratepayers and all Interested be held in the Tovrn Hall cn Wednesday, September Ist. at 7.30 p.m , for the purpose of considering the formation o; £ Borough at Te Kuiti.- Carried. Dr Zcbc-l reported that his subscription list, for the purpose or -y-eting the txremses in ec-mecticr; "with the taking cf the census.totalled £3 19s.— Mr Boddie moved ;hat a hearty vote of thanks be passed to Dr Zobel for his v,*ork in cobecrirg the above amount. Mr Broadmoor proposed, and Mr Lusk seconded, that the amount of £1 Is be paid to the takers cf the census, Messrs Tammadge and Fcrtescue. and that they be thanked fcr placing their services at the disposal of the Chamber. —Carried.
