Word has been received from Mr J G. Carpenter, the bowling green expert, that he wilt arrive at Te Kuiti tomorrow when he will at once proceed to draw out an estimate of cost of laying down the green and croquet lawns for the Te Kuiti Bowling Club. It is more than likely that the formation work will be put in hand during the coming week and with favourable weather the greens should be available for use early in January. The club is to be congratulated on securing the services of so capable a man as Mr Carpenter. He recently pot down the Epsom green and according to the opinion of Mr Harrison, the authority on these matters in Auckland, the work was carried out in a highly satisfactory manner: the green being nowhere more than one-eighth of an inch not of level. A special meeting of the Club will be held earty next week to consider Mr Carpenter's report.
