KING COUNTRY LANDS.

Opening for Settlement

Native lands acquired by the Government in the Auckland and Taranaki districts, aggregating many thousand acres, are declared by Governor's proclamations published in this week's "Gazette" to be made Crown lands, subject to be sold and dealt with under the Land Act, 1908. This proclamation comprises a number of large areas in all parts of Waitomo County, and particularly in the south-eastern portion, and includes several blocks opened as improved farm setlements. There are also a number of blocks opened as improved farm settlements. There are also a number of blocks in West Taupo, Kawhia, and Awakino Counties.and probably others scattered through different counties. As, however, no "Gazette" of this week's issue has yet come to band it is impossible to give more than a-brief idea of the provisions of the notice.
