PIRONGIA HUNT CLUB.
The I'irongia branch of tbe Waikato Hunt Club brought the bunting season to a close with a very enjoyable steeplechase meeting.
The meeting was held on Wednesday last, lovely weather prevailed, and a good crowd assembled to witness tbe sport.
Tbe results of tbe racing were as follows :~
Point to Point Open event, list.- -T. Kemptborne's Aldersbot 1; F. Higginson's Hark away 2; J. Reilley's Westward Ho 3.
Jumpers' Flat Race. —J. Mawbinney's Hero 1; W. Scott's Waipa 2; H. Brace's Dora 3.
Handicap Trot.—N. Higginson's Alicol; A. Pollard's Batdy 2; H. Corcoran's Jack 3. Hunters, 13st, focal.-jj. Kemptborne's Queen of the West 1; H. Riley's Tere 2; W. Robinson's Miss McCarthy 3. The Club's Secretary, Mr Jones, and tbe committee must be congratulated upon the excellent manner in wbich the meeting was carried out Mr W. Maeky acted as judge, and Mr H. Weal as starter.
A dance in tbe Public Hall brought a most pleasurable day to a close.
