STOCK SALES.
+ The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited report as follows: — On Wednesday 4th inst. we held a clearing sale at Pukerimu on account of Mr D. T. Stitchbury. There was a good attendance and the dairy herd all sold at from £6 5s to £9; heifers £5 10s to £8 ss; farm horses up to £l4 15s; implements and sundries at usual rates. At Cambridge on the 6th inst., we yarded 150 head of fat cattle. 685 stores, also sheep. The beef was all required by Paeroa, Huntly, and local butchers ,and sold at advanced rates. Buyers were present for store cattle from Te Kuiti, Glen Murray, Matamata and surrounding district, and keen competition existed throughout, only two pens of yearlings being passed at auction. Fat steers made from £J 15s to £8 10s; fat cows £5 12s 6d to £6 15s; lighter weights £4 16s to £5 ss; fat heifers £5 to £5 10s; empty heifers in fresh conditio!, £3 to £3 7s 6d; store cows £2 5s to £2 12s; 20 month steers £3 3s to £3 9s; yearling steers £2 3s to £2 9s; mixed calves 34s to 395; empty two year dairy heifers £3 4s to £3 9s; yearling heifers 35s to 465; fat wethers 18s 3d; hoggets 1235. On Saturday, 7th inst., we held a dairy cow sale in Cambridge yards, and submitted 380 cows and heifers. Buyers were present from Matamata, Hinuera, Tautari and all parts of the Waikato, and we report a successful sale. Mr C. W. Keeley's whole herd all sold at prices ranging from £6 17s 6d to £lO 2s 6d; more backward cows, £5 12s 6d to £6 10s; good dairy cows from other sellers, £6 10s to £8 2s 6d; culls, £1 15s to £3 10s; dairy heifers in good condition were wanted and made from £7 to £8 2s 6d; backward sorts, £4 15s to £5 17s 6d; small and in low condition, £3 15s to £4 ss.
