Resident Correspondent. —Snooker Tournament. — This tournament at Le Sears rooms is causing mild excitement among local cueists. Quite a number have signified their intention of competing so some interesting matches should help to wbilw away the winter evenings, besides arousing a keener interest in this popular pastime. —Oddfellows.— As guests of the Loyal Hamilton Lodge, the Te Awamutu brethren were most hospitably treated on the occasion of their visit to Hamilton in connection with the opening of the new ball there. Welcome the coming speed of parting. Mr J. P. Vauae is to be farewetlcd publicly eve leaving here to take charge of his new office at the Strand Arcade. The function, in the form of a ocial, will also be made the occasion of welcoming Mr Stewart, who is to bo Mr Vause's successor. I understand it in also the intention of the members of taa Band of Hope to make Mr Vaose a presentation. —Accident.— Ned. Garraonsway the well known Ptroagta carrier, met with a painful accident on Monday. He came into eontact with a cow and the result was a broken leg. Dt Henderson attended the sufferer, who is now progressing favourably. —Personal. — Mr and Mrs Von Stunner and family have returned from their trip sooth.
