A COMPAINT.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,- -I should like to say a word in protest against the way that settlers are treated with their mail. As you will see by the enclosed telegram it was sent to me on the sth inst. from Te Kuiti to Mairoa, informing me of the death of a friend, and I did not get it until the 12th inst., seven days after it was sent. I must admit that Piopio would be the nearest post office to me, but I am well known to the postmaster, and there is always some one passing the gate.--I am, etc., GEO. J. BEVEGE, Mairoa Road, July 12th, 1909.
