TE KUITI MODEL PARLIAMENT.
A Model Parliament, was held under the auspices of the Te Kuiti Young Mens' Institute on Monday evening last in the Congregational Church. Strong parties had been formed to represent the Government and the Opposition parties, Mr J. Boddie being Premier, and Mr Jer. Ormsby Leader of the Opposition. There was a large attendance of the public, and great interest was taken in the proceedings. The Premier delivered a policy speech which gave rise to an interesting debate, each side scoring well off the weakneses of their opponents Considerable amusement was caused by the running fire of interjection and repartee which was kept up throughout to the amusement of the audience and participants. A motion of no-confidence in the Government in consequence of its failure to deal satisfactorily with the Native question was carried at the conclusion of the debate.
