Mr Jennings, member for the dis-j trict. has lost no time in moving in f the matter of the liquor question, as it . applies to the King Country. Among | the first questions put before the Pre- i micr at the opening of Parliament was "whether the Government, in view of the number of convictions of persons for alleged sly grog selling and the recent granting of wholesale licenses in e the electorate, will grant to the rcsi- f dents the right of voting local option r the <amc as is extended to electors of other electorates throughout the Dominion.
Mr Hine, one of the new Taranaki members has asked the question as to what action the Government intend to take, if any, in connection with the granting of wholesale licenses in the King Country.
