MONTGOMERY'S NEW COMPANY.
Speaking of the above Company's performance to take place in Te Kuiti tomorrow, Friday evening, a contemporary says:- -There are picture shows and picture shows, and it is no flattery to say that Montgomery's films are surpassed by none indeed, the animated pictures pourtrayed last night were of a high order—interesting, novel, humorous, and educative. The Franco-British exhibition scenes were realistic and unique, whilst "The Gorges of Tarn", South France, were vivid and picturesque. A number of comicanimations, in which the petulant hubby and wifey were depicted, proved irresistibly funny.as also were the "Unexpected Squall" and numerous others. The "Borrowed Xoculaco" and the "Champion House D< u" v.-ere attractive and interesting and were received with spirited applause. The harmonious Hu.vhams were well received in the part song "A Soldier's Sweetheart,' 1 and they vmv compelled to respond to a vociferous encore. Later on in the urogramme their comedy ceived in the picture melody "When the Whip-poor-WiH sings Marguerite" an item nicelv rendered and illustrated.
