"Bonnie Glen" estate, the property of Mrs H. A. Ellison, which cocupies a highly favourable position for residential sites was recently subdivided by the owner into sections varying in size from about one acre to about eight acres. The sections were offered for sale by public auction at Te Kuiti Hall on Friday last. Mr G. McCullagh, auctioneer for the Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, weilded the hammer, and there was a good attendance, including a number of settlers from the out districts. Bidding for some of the allotments was fairly good, but of the 14 sections ofTcrcd only three were sold under the hammer.

Lots 2 and 5 were purchased by Mr J. Tammadgeat £lls and £2OO respectively. Lot 16 went to the bid of Mr G. Otway at £l3O. Subsequent to the sale the majority of the sections were disposed of privately. Section 10. containing la 2r was secured by Miss Melling of Te Kuiti for £120: section 13, la Or 22p, by Mr V. S. Hattawav of Te Kuiti for £ll7 10s; Mr A. D. McCardle secured immediately after the sale at ths upset price sections 1, 2. 3, 4 ,5, and 19. containing 15 acres for £IOOO. Mr Derbyshire paid £6O for section 15. Numerous enquiries were made for the unsold sections, and it is expected they will all be disposed of in a few days. The average price realised was £7O per acre. This is the most successful land sale ever held in the district, and in the face of a depressed money market is a tribute to the established confidence in the future of the town.
