As indicated by the title, the book deals with the legal aspect of various questions with which settlers in particular are concerned. Although primarily written for the settler, «ho book is intended to be of practical use not only to that claw, but to persons in every walk of life, even to magistrates and members of the legal profession. The book is the work of Mr F. W. Shortland, the well knows Solicitor, of Taumarunui, who has already published well known works of a somewhat similar character.
