Opening of the Season.
- T The first matches of the season undci the auspices of tie Maniapoto Rugbj Union, were played on Saturday last. In the early part of (he day a considerable amount of rain fell and it wai feared the opening gatrtfs would be played under unfavourable conditions. However, after mid-day the weather cleared, the sun shone out, and a fine bright afternoon was'experienced. The Nchinehinui team, winner i of lastsea»wt's premiership met the Oparurc eEub at Tr Kuiti. and Tc Kuiti team journeyed to Piopio to meet Ihc Mokauiti fifteen.
