Maniapoto Rugby Union.

A meeting of the Rguby Union was held at Te Kuiti on Tuesday evening. Mr J. B. Young, president, occupied the chair .and all the clubs were represented by delegates.

An application for the removal of the disqualification from one of the Nchinehinui players was the first business dealt with. A written apology was received from the player in question, and it was decided to give the player an ooportunity of apologising through the Press and also to the different clubs, the form of apology to be approved by the Union Secretary. It was further resolved that if the course suggested was followed a meeting would be held on Friday evening to further consider the matter. It was decided to bold a Union Ball on a date to be fixed and a committee was set up to arrange preliminaries.

The question of costume was referred to by some of the delegate* and the Secretary was instructed to call the referee* 'attention to the by-law referring to the wearing of correct colours by the players. It was decided to appoint the referees week by week, and also that the custom of referees choosing the line empires should be strictly adhered to. The Mokau-iti Club which takes the place of the old Piopio team, was affiliated to the Union, Mr J. Nicholson being admitted as delegate. Messrs Grey and Hotu wen appointed delegates for the Oparure team. Following is the draw for the season, the dates for the first round being fixed:—

May 8.- Nchinehinui v. Oparure, at Tc Kuiti. -Referee, Mr Finlay. Te Kuiti v, Mokau-ili, at Piopio.- Referee, Mr Elliott.

May 15. - Opanirc v. Mokau-iti, at Opororc. Nchincbinui v. Tc Kuiti. at Tc Kuiti.

May 22. Mokau-iti v. Nchinehinui, at Piopio. Tc Kuiti v. Oparure, at Te Kuiti.

-Second Round

The same as first round with the places of meeting reversed where necessary.

—Third Round.-

Mokauiti v. Tc Kuiti. at Piopio. Nchinehinui v. Opanirc at Tc Kuiti. Mokau - iti v. Oparure, at Piopio. Nebincbinui v. Tc Kuiti at Tc Kuiti. Mokauiti v. Nchincbinui at Piopio. Tc Kuiti v. Opanirc at Tc Kuiti. Owing to the fact that several representative matches were projected during the season it was impossible to fix dates for the second and third rounds.

Members of the Tc Kuiti football club arc requested to meet at Kerr's bonding bouse on Friday evening at 8 o'clock, to appoint a captain and discus* matters in connection with the match. against Piopio. Concerted effort on the part of the players is absolutely essential, otherwise no good can result. It is hoped that each individual member of the etub will show bis enthusiasm, by donning his jersey when called upon, and thus help to make the season the success it ought to be.

The Te Kuiti team to play against Mokau-iti at Piopio on Saturday will be chosen from the following:—Messrs Williams, Pitcon, Thompson, Kerr 3, Burd. Taylor, Hansen, Spragg.Rothery 3, Black, Howarth, Thorburn, Blutcher 2, Redmond.
