The annual general meeting of the Waipa Rugby Union was held at the Te Awamoto Hotel on Saturday night 24th inst. Mr C. Macky occupied the chair.
The Secretary submitted bis annual report in which he referred at length to the Club doings throughout the 1908 season. Four clubs. Kihikihi. Paterangi. Te Awamutu, and Otorohanga had competed the first mentioned proving the victors, having won all their matches without having their line crossed. Special mention was made of the training of the Kihikihi men, and the report urged Waipa footballers generally to emulate the example set. The junior competitions inaugurated last season produced fair football, particularly on the cart of Otorohanga and Kihikihi. The badges presented by the Union were won by Otorohanga who won all their matches but one, which was drawn.

Thames and Gotdnctds. Regret was expressed at the departure from the district of Mr W. J. Criebton. of Kihikibi. who bad proved himself an excellent help to Waipa football as referee and as a member of the management committee. The Secretary referred at length to the change of Union management effected last year, whereby only nonplayers were included thereon. The change had proved most acceptable. the season's football going on .without a single bitch. The report which was received with applause was adopted.
