The Codlin Moth.
Orcbardists in New Zealand cannot employ themselves too actively in fighting the codlin moth pest. The inspectors under the Orchard and Garden Pests' Act naturally look for the co-operation of orcbardists, and it is gratifying to find that in most cases they are receiving it. There are, however, not a few cases where neglectful grower* are proving a menace to their neighbours. By spraying two or more times with arsenate of lead or arsenite of soda, and by attending regularly to the bandages there will be a minimum of damaged fruit. Thorough band-picking sboold also be employed.
