Tile New Zealand Loan and Mercan- | tile Agency Company report:- I We held our usual fortnightly sale , at Ottaupo on Tuesday last, when we , yarded 250 bead of cattle and 1200 ] sheep. There was not much demand < for cattle and a number of pens failed ] to reach reserves; but alt sheep sold ( at good prices—2 year old steers made \ £3 18s to £4; 20 months to two year , old steers, £2 13s to £3 3s; 13 months | fat and forward steer*,£2 5s to £2los; < heifers, £2; calves, £1 to£l 9s; cows, , £3 15s to £4 ss; store cows, £2; 4 , tooth ewes, been with rams, 13s 9d; , 2toothcwes, 12s lid; 4tooth wethers, )2s lid; 2tooth wethers, Us Id. At Te Kuiti on Wednesday we peno- ' ed 950 head of cattle of good quality and condition, and 2700 sheep. There | was a targe number of settlers from , all parts of the King Country and the Watkato; and although prices ruling were a trifle lower than usual, sellers ' were inclined to accept, and nearly •very line changed hands. Three and a half year old steers made £4 15s to £6 8s; 2to 3 year old steers, £3 12s ' to £4 ss; 20 months to 2 year old steers £2 10a to £3; 18 months do., £2 2s to £2 6s; 20 months heifers, £1 5s to£2; forward and fat heifers, £3 5s to £3 15s; fat cows, £l4 3s to £4 ss; store cows, £2 to £2 15s; cows and calves, £2 10s to £3; calves, 18s to £1 Is. Sheep: 4tooth ewes, 12s lOd; 2tooth do., lis 3d; wethers, 9s 2d to lis; full mouth ewes, 7s 8d to 8s; full mouth fat ewes, lis 3d; shorn lambs. 6s 4d; smalt woolly lambs, 5s Id. We held a clearing iale near Kihtkihi on Friday on account of Mr G. Mac Kinder, and the live stock, implements and furniture, were disposed of ■ at satisfactory prices. Two£and a half year old heifers due to calve in spring made £3 12s p'd to £4 7s 6d; medium mare, £3l 10s; aged mares and foals, £6 15s to £ls; 2 year old medium colts, £ll 10s to £l3; hacks, £8 to £lO ss.
